Omar fixes cracks, says PDP won’t contest against NC in LS Polls

Srinagar, Apr 2: A day after National Conference (NC) announced its candidate from the Anantnag-Rajouri constituency, the former chief minister of erstwhile J&K state Omar Abdullah hinted that the alliance between the regional parties and also at the national level is not going to affect, saying that the ally—Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is not going to announce their candidate against them.
Earlier on Monday, Omar on behalf of the party announced Mian Altaf Ahmad Larvi as the party’s candidate from the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat.

Omar while speaking to the media persons stated that the NC and PDP are part of the alliance at the national level—INDI Alliance, thus the partner might not announce its candidate against them (NC).
Speaking on the occasion, Omar stated that PDP president Mehbooba Mufti has not so far made any announcement with regard to participating in the elections or fielding any candidate from the three seats of Kashmir division.
“Mehbooba Ji has recently made her stand about support to INDI Alliance clear,” he said and appealed media not to create rift between the two alliance partners.
Speaking about Article 370, Omar while criticizing the decision said that it was a grave mistake that deprived the people of Jammu and Kashmir of their rights.
Meanwhile, Omar criticized the emergence of alliances in Kashmir orchestrated by directives from Delhi, alleging that these alliances involve parties acting as proxies for the BJP, contesting with BJP backing.
