Pakistan Cannot Be Trusted as a Credible Mediator, Its Record on Terrorism Speaks for Itself : Manzoor Bhat

Srinagar, 13 April: Amid failed mediation efforts between Iran and the USA, BJP J&K Spokesperson Manzoor Bhat criticized the development, stating the outcome was expected given Pakistan’s record on terrorism and regional instability.

He said that a country which has consistently sponsored and exported terrorism to other nations cannot be trusted as a credible mediator for peace. From the ongoing violence in Balochistan to instability in Afghanistan and repeated attempts to disrupt peace in India, Pakistan’s role has been deeply questionable, Bhat stated.

Referring to India’s decisive actions, he highlighted Operation Sindoor, through which India exposed Pakistan on the global stage. The operation clearly demonstrated how terror launch pads operating from within Pakistan were targeted and dismantled. It served as concrete proof before the entire world of Pakistan’s involvement in promoting terrorism and instability beyond its borders,” he said.

Bhat emphasized that a nation with such a background cannot be expected to bring peace. How can a country, known for spreading terrorism in regions like Afghanistan, Balochistan, and India, be seen as a force for peace or stability?” he questioned.

He added that the failure of these negotiations only reaffirms what was already evident. We had no expectations from Pakistan, and this outcome has only validated that position. A nation that fuels unrest cannot suddenly become a messenger of peace,” he remarked.

Touching upon the evolving global situation, Bhat referred to the ongoing tensions involving Iran and Israel, stating that efforts are being made at the international level to restore peace. It is encouraging that countries like the United States are looking toward India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a constructive role in mediation. This reflects India’s growing stature as a responsible and peace-oriented global power,” he said.

He further noted that India has, for decades, upheld a strong reputation as a nation that believes in peace, dialogue, and stability. If India is given an opportunity to contribute toward mediation, we are confident that it will act with responsibility and in the larger interest of global peace,” Bhat added.

He concluded by reiterating that while India remains committed to peace and stability, it will not place trust in nations that have historically contributed to terrorism and regional instability.
