JAMMU, NOV 13: The Director General of Police (DGP) J&K, R R Swain, chaired a joint security review meeting in District Kulgam, emphasizing the need for a more effective mechanism to ensure public safety while dealing with elements inimical to peace. The high-ranking officers of Police, Army, and CRPF participated in the meeting, which aimed to review the security setup in the district, discussing measures to bring and retain peace and eliminate militancy at its roots.
Accompanied by ADGP Law & Order J&K Vijay Kumar and IGP Kashmir Zone V K Birdi, the DGP stressed the importance of maintaining a peaceful and secure environment through people-friendly policing. He highlighted the crucial role of the public in the prevailing scenario, urging officers to evolve more effective mechanisms to ensure public safety while dealing with elements disruptive to peace.
Emphasizing the need for continued action against terrorists and their sympathizers, the DGP directed officers to keep all suspicious elements under proper surveillance to thwart their disruptive designs. He instructed officers to strengthen and augment security grids in their respective areas, focusing on the safety and security of the general public and vulnerable sections.
