Pulwama, 11th Aug : Pulwama Police under the aegis of Civic Action Programme (CAP) organized a Knock-out T-20 Cricket tournament which was earlier inaugurated by DIG SKR Sh. Mohd. Rayees Bhat-IPS concluded today. A colourful closing ceremony was held after the final match of the tournament at Sports Stadium Rajpora. On the closing ceremony, SSP Pulwama Sh. Mohd. Yousif-JKPS was Chief Guest and DySP DAR, DySP Hqrs, SHO PS Rajpora and other officers of district attended the closing ceremony. The final match of the T20 cricket tournament was played between Rajpora Royals Cricket Club Vs Lala 11 Rajpora in which Rajpora Royals Cricket Club beats Lala 11 Rajpora by 75 runs and emerged as winners of the tournament.
The tournament was played on knock out basis in which 16 teams from different areas of Rajpora Belt participated with great enthusiasm, passion and valour.
While speaking on the closing ceremony, SSP Pulwama said that Pulwama Police has always been on the forefront in providing platform to youth and guide them in following their goals by organizing different events in the District. He also said that these sports activities not only keep the youth physically and mentally fit but also keep themselves away from anti-national elements and social evils. Moreover, SSP Pulwama assured every possible help for the promotion of sports at the grass root level and affirmed such tournaments will be organized in the different areas of the district in future as well.
SSP Pulwama Sh. Mohd Yousuf-JKPS also presented trophies and medals to winner team and runner up team. The Winning team and Runner-up team were awarded with Trophies, Cash Prize of Rs.20000/- and Rs.10000/- respectively. Man of the Match award (Cricket Bat)was given to Yamin Nazir and man of the series ward (Sports Kit) was given to Imran Akbar. SSP Pulwama thanked the players, spectators and the people who witnessed the event and made the event successful.
