Rabindranath Tagore’s classic story ‘Daak Ghar’ to light up the small screen this January

Directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, the Zee Theatre presentation is sure to tug at the heartstrings


Mumbai, Jan 29 : Written in 1912, Rabindranath Tagore’s moving play, ‘Daak Ghar’ can be savoured as a teleplay on the small screen this January. Set in rural Bengal, it introduces us to a young orphan Amal who because of a terminal illness is confined to a small room in his uncle’s home. His sole connection with the outside world is a window. His imagination is however unfettered and vibrant and he longs to lead a normal life. When he learns that the King is opening a new post office nearby, he begins to dream of becoming a postmaster and meeting him. Will his dream come true?
