New Delhi, April 20: Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Monday expressed grief over the loss of lives in the Ramnagar–Udhampur bus accident, describing the incident as “extremely heartbreaking.”
In a statement, Gandhi conveyed condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the recovery of those injured in the accident.
“The news of the deaths of several people and injuries to many others due to the accident of a passenger bus on the Udhampur-Ramnagar route is extremely heartbreaking.
In this hour of grief, my condolences are with all the bereaved families who have lost their loved ones. I pray for the swift recovery of the injured,” he said.
The reaction comes amid widespread expressions of grief from political leaders following the accident, which has resulted in 21casualties and 61 injuries.
Authorities continue to carry out rescue and relief operations, with injured persons undergoing treatment at various medical facilities. (KNT)
