Jaipur, Apr 26 Around 40.39 per cent of 2.80 crore voters exercised their franchise in the first six hours of Lok Sabha elections from 13 seats of Rajasthan amid tight security arrangements on Friday.
The poll officers said that in the final phase of LS polling from the state, Barmer recorded the highest turnout of 47.48 percent till 1 am.
Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta said that polling which began at 7 am is by and large peaceful and will continue till 6 pm. Polling is being held at 28,758 polling stations of the state in the second and final phase. “This includes 653 auxiliary polling stations including 4,778 urban and 23,327 rural,” he said.
