Sajad Lone slams NC’s ‘A, B team’ labeling, vows action on 1987 rigging

EHSAN PARRAY:

SONAWARI, MAY 9: When the National Conference has nothing on their agenda, they resort to labelling other parties as ‘A’ or ‘B’ teams, alleged People’s Conference President Sajad Gani Lone. Addressing a massive gathering at Sumbal Town in North Kashmir, Lone criticized this tactic as a common practice in the NC’s politics in the Kashmir Valley. “Stop issuing certificates of good and bad,” he emphasized, holding Omar Abdullah responsible for killings in Jammu and Kashmir. Lone vowed that if his party is given a mandate, those involved in the 1987 electoral fraud will be dealt with according to the law. Accompanied by General Secretary Molvi Imran Raza Ansari, Yasir Reshi, and other party leaders, Lone positioned himself as the voice of the suppressed and promised accountability for the 1987 rigging by the NC if given a chance to represent the people in Parliament. Lone accused Omar Abdullah of deceiving the people of Jammu and Kashmir by making empty promises regarding Articles 370 and 35A. Responding to Abdullah’s statement targeting him as a militant, Sajad questioned whether he was a militant or affiliated with the BJP. He warned that if his government came into power, FIRs would be registered against Farooq Abdullah for the rigging of the 1987 Elections. Challenging Abdullah’s accusations, Sajad asked, “If I am not good, how can you claim to be good?” Lone thanked the people of Sonawari for their unwavering support and boundless dedication, and expressed gratitude to Yasir Reshi for organizing the remarkable gathering. He emphasized that their efforts have brought them together in unity and purpose, paving the way for a brighter future for all.
