Security Review and High Alert in North Kashmir Ahead of Independence Day

North Kashmir, August 13 – Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Maqsood-ul-Zaman conducted an extensive tour of several districts in North Kashmir to assess and review security arrangements for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations.

In Kupwara district, security has been placed on high alert, with joint teams of the Army, Jammu & Kashmir Police, and paramilitary forces intensifying operations. Multiple Cordon and Search Operations (CASO), Naka points, Mobile Vehicle Check Points (MVCP), and Search and Domination Operations (SADO) have been carried out in key areas.

In a notable move, women officers and lady jawans actively participated in the security drills, expanding the scope of searches and strengthening community outreach. Officials emphasised that these measures are designed to ensure foolproof security and maintain peace during the national celebrations.
