
Srinagar, 15th Feb : on the eve of International Childhood Cancer Day, the Department of Medical Oncology at Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) today organized a vibrant event which included awareness programs and cultural activities. The diverse activities provided a platform to children to showcase their talents, share moments of joy, and support each other in this journey. The care-givers, parents and the patients also shared their experiences and thanked doctors at SKIMS for care and support. The event is observed every year to raise awareness on prevention and early detection of childhood cancers.
The event was chaired by Director SKIMS and EOSG Prof. Dr. Parvaiz A. Koul who expressed his admiration for the strength displayed by the children facing cancer and emphasized the hospital’s commitment to providing comprehensive care and support for pediatric oncology patients.

Dr. Farooq A. Jan, Medical Superintendent of SKIMS who was also present on the occasion commended the efforts of the Medical Oncology Department for organizing the event, highlighting the importance of collective efforts in addressing the challenges faced by children battling cancer.
