Feroz Wagay to lead the association, vows to resolve issues of contracts
Sonawari Sumbal – In a significant development, the Sonawari Contractors Association has elected a new body, with Feroz Ahmad Wagay as its President, to address the long-standing issues faced by contractors in the region. The association held an event today at Dak Bangloo Sumbal where contractor community of Sonawari gathered to discuss the challenges they face while taking up government projects.
On the occasion contractors highlighted the two major issues affecting contractors: pending payments worth crores of rupees and a shortage of construction materials due to the ban on mining. They emphasized that these issues have been plaguing the contractor community for a long time and need to be addressed urgently.
Feroz Wagay while speaking to Media appealed to the Deputy Commissioner Bandipora to intervene and address the concerns of contractors. He requested the Deputy Commissioner to ensure that pending payments are released promptly and that alternative arrangements are made to address the material shortage.

The Sonawari Contractors Association aims to work towards resolving the issues faced by contractors in Sonawari and ensure a conducive working environment for its members. The association plans to engage with government officials, contractors, and other stakeholders to address the pending payments and material shortage issues.
The event was attended by prominent officials, including the Executive Engineer of R&B division Sumbal and AEE I&FC Sumbal, who assured their support to the association in addressing the contractors’ concerns.
