Mumbai, Feb 04 : Actor Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia is making waves as she transitions from the small screen to Bollywood. In a bold statement, Nimrit has addressed the stigma some actors associate with their television background, stating, “Many TV actors abandon their background like it’s a thing to be hidden. There’s no shame in the background that literally gave you the launchpad.”
Nimrit, who has always been vocal about her journey and struggles, credits her success to her hard work and unwavering dedication to her craft. She refuses to distance herself from her roots, believing that the television industry played an instrumental role in shaping her career.
“I owe everything to television,” she shares. “It was my first avenue to become an actor and the platform that nurtured my passion for acting. It gave me the opportunity to reach where I am today. There’s no reason to feel ashamed of it, and I will never abandon the identity that got me started.”
While many actors shy away from embracing their association with television, Nimrit stands firm in her belief that the industry deserves respect. For her, moving to the big screen is not about discarding her past but building on it. “Television taught me discipline, resilience, and how to connect with audiences. It’s a proud part of my story, and I’ll continue to move forward without any regrets,” she adds.
