Bandipora, Aug 2: Former Minister and Apni Party Vice President Usman Majid today visited Kudara Village to express solidarity with fire victims, assuring them all possible support from the party.
Majid assured them that the he will raise the issue of their early rehabilitation and recovery with all concerned government agencies . He said he has come come to express his unison with the fire affected. I told the victims that they are not alone at this difficult time and that the party will walk shoulder to shoulder with them. It was sad to walk through the ruined and smoldered once lively and humble dwellings of our brethren here. Majid said he has already raised the issue at all appropriate forums, and will continue to do so until the affected are effectively compensated for their losses. Majid said that the victim families belong to the underprivileged section of society and deserve support from the administration.

Besides this, Majid said the areas including Khenusa, Ashtangooo, Arin, Aloosa, Malangam Quil , Chittibanday also don’t have any fire service station. In case of any emergency, the villagers wholly depend on fire tenders and personnel from main town Bandipora which is around 15 kilometres away from most of the villages here. By the time fire tenders reach the spot, the structures are already reduced to ashes
Majid demanded setting up of fire service stations for Khenusa, Ashtangooo, Arin, Aloosa, Malangam Quil and Chittibanday to prevent fire incidents and mitigate losses during these incidents.
