ANANTNAG, OCTOBER 28: Vigilance Awareness Week-2024 kick started today in Anantnag with the main function held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
At the main function, Integrity Pledge was administered to District and Sectoral Officers. The objective of the pledge is to exhort the officers to maintain highest standards of integrity, transparency and good governance in all aspects of operations.
The week shall be celebrated with the theme ‘Corruption free India for a developed Nation’. The focus areas of the celebrations will be on Preventive Vigilance cum internal housekeeping activities and increasing public awareness about the perils of corruption inculcating the true spirit of participative vigilance and conducting Special Clearance Campaign for disposal of outstanding vigilance matters.
The vigilance week is part of the broader efforts to strengthen public trust and ensure responsible governance.

Vigilance Awareness Week-2024: ACB, Bandipora Administration Advocate for Corruption-Free Governance
BANDIPORA, OCTOBER 28: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) J&K and District Administration Bandipora on Monday organized a day-long awareness program to mark the commencement of Vigilance Awareness Week 2024, themed ‘Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity.’
The event witnessed participation from individuals across various sectors of society, along with officers and officials from different government offices and institutions.
Among others, the program was attended by ACR Bandipora Shabir Ahmad Wani, CPO (BKB) Fayaz Ahmad Shalbaf and officers from the ACB team.
The Vigilance Awareness Week aims to encourage all stakeholders to participate collectively in preventing and fighting corruption, raising public awareness about its causes, gravity, and the threats it poses.
As part of the program, a series of events and activities were held throughout the day, emphasizing vigilance and integrity in public life. Speakers advocated for corruption-free governance.
The first day of Vigilance Awareness Week included pledge-taking ceremonies where employees across the district took integrity pledges.
The main function was held at the Mini Secretariat Bandipora, where ACR Bandipora administered the Integrity Pledge to participants. All attendees pledged to work together to eradicate corruption, oppose all forms of it, and foster a culture of honesty and integrity.
During the pledge, participants acknowledged that corruption has been a major obstacle to the economic, political, and social progress of the country. They affirmed that all stakeholders, including the government, citizens, and private sector, must collaborate to eradicate corruption.
They also recognized their responsibility to lead by example and emphasized the importance of implementing safeguards, integrity frameworks, and codes of ethics to avoid involvement in corrupt practices and address instances of corruption with utmost strictness.
The event featured insightful sessions led by officers from the ACB, who shared valuable perspectives and raised awareness about the importance of vigilance, encouraging participants to uphold integrity in both professional and personal spheres.
In Sumbal Subdivision, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bandipora Zaffar Husson Shawl administered the integrity pledge to officers and officials at the SDM Office Sumbal, advocating for transparency in their work.
Similar integrity pledges were administered at government offices, government degree colleges, bank branches, schools, and other institutions across Bandipora district.
A week-long series of events and activities is scheduled to continue across the district, reaching various government offices and institutions, all aimed at promoting a culture of vigilance and ethical behavior within the community.
