Lucknow, May 28: The Government of India is set to launch Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan-2025 as part of the Kharif campaign. This 15-day nationwide program will run from May 29 to June 12. During the campaign, 12,000 agricultural scientists will visit farmers’ fields to provide guidance and support aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity.

In Uttar Pradesh, the campaign will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday at 11:30 AM in the Lok Bhavan Auditorium, Lucknow. The initiative will be implemented across all 75 districts of the state. A total of 225 expert teams have been constituted to visit 675 locations, where they will engage with farmers in three interactive sessions at each venue.

State Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi shared this information during a media briefing held at Lok Bhavan on Wednesday evening. He informed that seminars on Kharif productivity have already been conducted across all 18 divisions of the state, including Prayagraj and Kanpur, on May 28.

The Agriculture Minister also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the pro-farmer decisions taken during the Union Cabinet meeting on Wednesday. He emphasized that these steps reflect the government’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of farmers.

Each location under the campaign will host a comprehensive three-hour program. It will involve participation from officials and experts from the Departments of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Irrigation, Cooperatives, Beekeeping, Agricultural Universities, and Krishi Vigyan Kendras.

Over 15 days, these teams will visit 10,125 sites across the state, directly interacting with farmers to share knowledge, solutions, and best practices. The Agriculture Minister stated that in recent years, the efforts made by PM Modi have led to the prosperity of farmers across the country and in Uttar Pradesh. Under the leadership of CM Yogi, arrangements have been made for the procurement of a variety of crops—such as gram, lentils, mustard, groundnut, sorghum, bajra, and maize—in addition to paddy and wheat, all based on MSP. To ensure the continued growth of farmers’ income, similar arrangements will be made this year as well.

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will also be present during the campaign, participating in events scheduled in Meerut and Jhansi over two days.

Minister Shahi stated that detailed preparations have been made in coordination with all relevant departments, including meetings with concerned ministers and the Principal Secretary. The campaign will be carried out at the grassroots level, covering all 8,135 Nyaya Panchayats across the state.

To ensure smooth execution, control rooms will be established at both state and district levels. The Additional Director (Extension) will serve as the nodal officer at the state level, while Deputy Directors will lead coordination efforts at the district level.

The overarching aim of the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan is to fulfill the vision of a developed India through modern, productive, and self-reliant agriculture. The campaign also aims to promote toxin-free farming, combat malnutrition through high-quality food production, and position India as a leading global supplier of agricultural products.

Minister of State for Agriculture Baldev Singh Aulakh, Principal Secretary Ravindra, and Agriculture Director Jitendra Singh Tomar, among others, were present at the press conference.
