SRINAGAR, NOV 22: The Wadie’s Hindi Shiksha Samiti, Srinagar, today organised a day long programme on promotion of Hindi and other regional languages of Kashmir at Tagore Hall here.
The aim of the symposium titled ‘Akshar Aur Muskaan’ was to promote Hindi in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir besides other regional languages of Kashmir valley.
The event saw participation of students from different schools from Srinagar. Skits on the theme of promotion and preservation of Hindi and other cultural items were also performed by students of Kashmir valley. The students through other skits also raised various issues of social importance.
During the programme, the speakers highlighted the importance of Hindi and other local languages in communication. They said that Hindi helps a majority of Indians to communicate with each other and is also considered one of the binding forces for India.
They also urged upon the participants to promote Hindi language for being the national language.
