Farmers to receive 90% subsidy plus added benefits to boost income
Lucknow, April 30: As part of its ongoing effort to boost agricultural growth, the Yogi government is promoting advanced Israeli techniques to strengthen vegetable production in Uttar Pradesh.
Centres of Excellence for Fruits and Vegetables are being set up in Kaushambi and Chandauli, alongside 150 hi-tech nurseries to provide farmers with quality plants and modern farming tools.
Minister of State Dinesh Pratap Singh said the Yogi government plans to double farmers’ income using Israeli technology, with 26 crore plants being prepared to boost the quality and quantity of vegetable production—helping farmers secure better market prices.
The 150 hi-tech nurseries being established across the state will provide farmers with seeds, saplings, training, and modern farming techniques—boosting vegetable production in every district and strengthening the rural economy.
To encourage drip and sprinkler irrigation, the Yogi government is offering generous subsidies. Under the scheme, small and marginal farmers receive up to 90% subsidy on drip irrigation, while other farmers get up to 80%. For sprinkler irrigation, small and marginal farmers are eligible for up to 75% subsidy, and others up to 65%.
Through nurseries and Centers of Excellence, farmers will be provided with high-quality plants, fertilizers, organic products, pest control solutions, water management guidance, crop protection, and marketing techniques. This will help reduce production costs and increase profits.
