Time not far when Kashmir will host major international events: Raina
SRINAGAR, MAR 04: Three days ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s maiden visit to Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here has stated that the people of the valley are ready to welcome the leader with enthusiasm and a crowd of nearly two people is expected at the venue on March 07.
PM Modi is scheduled to visit J&K’s summer capital, Srinagar on March 07, which is his first after the Centre revoked Article 370 on August 05, 2019. He will address the people at Bakshi Stadium here where tight security arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth rally.
Addressing a press conference today, J&K president of BJP, Ravinder Raina said that the people across the valley are keen to participate in the rally of the Prime Minister here as the leader has done tremendous work to ensure peace and progress in Jammu & Kashmir will bear fruit.
“The party is expecting a crowd of two lakh people and the venue will be flooded with the people, especially those who have been given their rights for the first time will also participate in the rally,” he said.
Raina added the rally is being held as the poll bugle has been sounded and any announcement that is to be made during the rally, will be known only when the rally is held on March 7.
The J&K BJP president said the party is ready for both assembly as well as the parliamentary elections. “We will contest both the elections on our own. In the first instance, two candidates for J&K have been announced while the rest of the candidates will be announced soon. As and when the assembly polls are announced by the Election Commission of India, the party will be fielding its candidates from all across,” Raina said.
“There is enough support from the people of Kashmir and the party will emerge victorious from J&K too,” he said, adding that the work done by PM Modi for the peace and progress of J&K will bear fruit.
“The time is not far when the major international events will be hosted in Kashmir under the leadership of PM Modi,” he said, adding that in every district of the valley, the government has launched a massive drive of development and also ensured the peace here.
