A Historic Spiritual Milestone: First-Ever Collective Recitation of Hanuman Chalisa in Kashmiri at Mohan Bab Ashram, Jib, Udhampur

Jammu: Team SSK embarked on a spiritually enriching journey to Mohan Bab Ashram at Jib, Udhampur, with a group of 50 volunteers participating in a day filled with devotion, cultural pride and spiritual learning. The highlight of the visit was the first-ever collective recitation (Samohik Ucharan) of the Hanuman Chalisa in Kashmiri at Mohan Bab Ashram, Jib Thathi, Udhampur, creating a deeply moving and sacred atmosphere.

The journey began with the Matra Shakti members singing bhajans and aartis aboard the bus. The devotional melodies were followed by the soulful Kashmiri cultural song “Ase Che Kuni Awaaz,” a powerful representation of the valour, contributions, achievements, culture, heritage, struggles and enduring resilience of the Kashmiri community.

Upon reaching Mohan Bab Ashram, nestled amidst the serene mountains along the banks of the Ganga, the team experienced an atmosphere of peace and spiritual tranquillity. Each member of Team SSK received a tilak and underwent a Nariwan ceremony performed by Swami Mohan Bab himself.

Ashram volunteers guided the team on a tour of the ashram, including darshan at a nearby Jagat Matta temple & Shiv temple.

As a mark of reverence and devotion, Team SSK presented a portrait of Mata Sharda to Swami Mohan Bab.

The ashram resonated with devotional fervour as members of Team SSK and ashram volunteers participated enthusiastically in bhajan, aarti, shloka and antakshari session.

The most significant moment of the day was the collective recitation of the Hanuman Chalisa in the Kashmiri language, (composed by Piayri Lal Bhat Chairman Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra) a meaningful step towards connecting Sanatan spiritual traditions with the linguistic and cultural heritage of Kashmir. The collective chanting filled the ashram with an atmosphere of devotion, reverence and spiritual harmony, making the occasion memorable for everyone present.

A traditional satvik lunch, comprising dal, ambal, dam aloo, rice and kheer, was served to the visitors.
After expressing gratitude to Swami Mohan Bab and the ashram volunteers for their warmth and hospitality, Team SSK proceeded to V.G. Vanparasth Ashram in Jib village, a girls-only Gurukul dedicated to traditional learning and spiritual education. The management warmly welcomed the team. The young girls of the Gurukul captivated the visitors with their recitation of Vedic mantras, demonstrating remarkable discipline, confidence and devotion. Their spiritually uplifting presentation was one of the most memorable experiences of the visit. Refreshments were subsequently served by the management, and the team captured cherished memories with the Gurukul members.

The day concluded with a profound sense of gratitude and spiritual fulfilment. The visit offered Team SSK an opportunity to experience the richness of Sanatan Dharma, appreciate the preservation of Vedic traditions and strengthen the bond between spirituality, cultural identity and community participation.
