BANDIPORA, NOV 22: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, the ADDC Bandipora Mohammad Ashraf Hakak Wednesday convened a meeting to discuss and facilitate the seamless implementation of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, aimed at empowering traditional artisans.
‘PM Vishwakarma Scheme’ was recently launched by the government to facilitate and honour traditional skills of craftspeople and their exemplary commitment and contribution in economic growth of the society.
During the meeting, it was informed that the scheme offers a range of benefits including toolkit incentive of Rs 15,000, training to artisans, Rs 500 per day during training, collateral-free credit support up to Rs 1 lakh (first tranche) and Rs 2 lakh (second tranche) at a concessional interest rate of 5%, incentives for digital transactions and marketing support.
The ADDC stressed the need for extensive implementation across municipalities and panchayats, emphasizing the role of awareness campaigns.
He also stressed the distribution of pamphlets for maximum beneficiary coverage under the initiative.
