Alleged multi-crore scam: Cyber Police statement

Srinagar, Dec 20: The Cyber Police in Kashmir received information about “Curative Survey Private Limited,” a company allegedly involved in scamming individuals through a deceptive website.
According to a statement, victims were enticed to invest their money with promises of significant returns, only to be deceived by false assurances from the fraudulent company.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the company lured individuals to register on its website, promising payments for participating in surveys. However, recent developments indicate that the company ceased due payments to registered individuals, and its promoters and directors are now absconding.
Taking prompt action, Cyber Police Kashmir registered FIR No 39/2023 under relevant sections of the IPC and IT Act. Investigations, along with details from victims, suggest that the company falsely pledged payments to those engaging in daily survey activities on their website.
The allure of quick and easy money attracted unsuspecting individuals to this alleged fake and fraudulent scheme. Cyber Police Kashmir has frozen several identified accounts of the company during the initial stages of the investigation.
Searches conducted at multiple locations resulted in the sealing of registered offices, and incriminating materials, including electronic devices and documents, were seized. The identification and investigation of the company’s promoters are underway, along with scrutiny of the role played by local office staff and individuals promoting the schemes on social media.
The statement urged the public to exercise caution regarding online scams, emphasizing the importance of verifying the credentials of online schemes before investing. Citizens affected by this scam were requested to share relevant information with the investigation agency, assuring an expeditious handling of the case.
