RAJOURI, NOVEMBER 27: To combat the menace of child marriage, an awareness program was organized today at the ANMT School, CMO Office, Rajouri.
The event was conducted under the directions of Deputy Commissioner and the supervision of District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) Abdul Raheem.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Manohar, along with his staff, actively participated in the function. The Administrator of the One Stop Centre (OSC) for Women, Nitu Sharma, accompanied by her team, was also present to lend her support to the cause.
The highlight of the event was the solemn Pledge against Child Marriage, where participants vowed to prevent and report instances of child marriage while promoting awareness about its harmful impacts.
Addressing the gathering, CMO Dr. Manohar emphasized the significant health and social consequences of child marriage, urging people to advocate for education and empowerment instead. Administrator OSC Nitu Sharma spoke about the legal framework available to protect children from such practices and encouraged the audience to utilize support mechanisms like the OSC to report violations.
The event aimed to raise awareness among the general public about the adverse effects of child marriage on the health, education, and overall well-being of children. Participants, including staff members and attendees, expressed their commitment to eradicating this social evil from society.
