Arms Cache Recovered During Joint Operation in Sopore’s Warpora; Search Operation Continues

Sopore, June 29: Joint Security forces on Monday recovered a cache of arms and ammunition during a joint operation in the Warpora area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

According to sources, the operation was launched jointly by Sopore Police and the 22 Rashtriya Rifles following specific inputs about the presence of suspicious material in the area.

During the search operation, security forces recovered one AK-47 rifle along with UBGL grenades and magazine from the site.

Source said the cordon and search operation (CASO) was still underway in the area, while further searches were being conducted to trace any additional weapons or suspicious items.

Meanwhile, security has been tightened in and around Warpora as the operation continues. More details are awaited.
