Uri, August 13: The strategically significant Red Bridge–Dheriya–Kathi Road in Uri is witnessing rapid transformation under the dedicated efforts of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO).
With the WBM work completed, Dense Bituminous Macadam (DBM) and Bituminous Concrete (BC) works are progressing at a steady pace under strict quality control and technical supervision. The construction reflects sound engineering practices, including uniform thickness, proper compaction and a smooth riding surface designed to withstand the demanding conditions of hilly terrain.
The upgraded road has provided noticeable relief to local residents by improving connectivity, reducing travel time and facilitating easier access to essential services. The improved route is also expected to ensure smoother and more efficient movement of Army vehicles, thereby strengthening strategic preparedness in the border region.
Local residents have appreciated the pace and quality of the ongoing work and expressed confidence in the durability of the project.
The successful execution of the project further highlights the BRO’s commitment to nation-building and infrastructure development. Project Beacon and HQ 53 RCC have earned special appreciation for their exemplary supervision, technical precision and adherence to high standards of construction quality.
