Baramulla, 29 June 2026: The Grand Finale of the Inter School Debate Competition
“Flight of Young Minds” was conducted at Thimaya Hall, Baramulla, by Indian Army under the

banner of “Wadi-e-Tarjuman”. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students
representing various schools across Baramulla district.
The finale revolved around the contemporary and thought-provoking theme, “Is
Psychological Integration of Jammu & Kashmir with the Rest of India Already a Reality or
Still a Work in Progress?” The competition provided a vibrant platform for students to articulate
their views, engage in meaningful discourse and showcase their intellectual acumen on issues
concerning identity, belonging, development and national cohesion.
The participants demonstrated exceptional confidence, analytical thinking and maturity
while presenting balanced and well-reasoned arguments from diverse perspectives. The
deliberations reflected the aspirations of the youth towards greater understanding, inclusivity,
progress and constructive engagement in nation-building.
During the debate, speakers supporting the motion highlighted the positive impact of
enhanced educational, economic and digital connectivity in strengthening engagement between
the youth of Jammu & Kashmir and the rest of India. They also emphasized increased
participation in national-level academic, sporting, cultural and professional platforms as
indicators of growing integration and opportunity. Developmental initiatives, improved
infrastructure and expanding avenues for youth empowerment were cited as significant
contributors towards strengthening national integration.
Conversely, speakers opposing the motion argued that psychological integration remains
an evolving process requiring sustained trust-building and deeper emotional connect across
communities. They underscored the influence of historical experiences, regional sensitivities and
differing perceptions on societal attitudes and public discourse. The need for continued dialogue,
inclusive development and people-centric engagement was highlighted as essential for further
strengthening the process of integration.
The event emerged as a celebration of informed discourse, intellectual excellence and
youth leadership. It underscored the transformative power of dialogue in bridging perspectives,
nurturing responsible citizenship and reinforcing the ideals of peace, progress and national unity.
Through the spirit of Wadi-e-Tarjuman, the competition successfully fostered
understanding, harmony and a forward-looking vision among the youth of Baramulla, reaffirming
the role of constructive engagement in shaping a brighter and more inclusive future.
