Army Delivers Lifeline: Permanent Footbridge in Baramulla Connects 1,500 Lives in Record Time

BARAMULLA, April 27, 2026: In a major boost to local infrastructure and public safety, the Indian Army has constructed a permanent footbridge over the Mundari Nala in Adoora village, replacing a risky wooden crossing within just 30 days. The bridge was formally dedicated to the public by the GOC Dagger Division.
The initiative was fast-tracked after villagers voiced safety concerns during routine outreach interactions. Executed with precision by the 14 Engineer Regiment in collaboration with Baramulla Rashtriya Rifles, the 21-meter-long bridge is built using reinforced concrete and high-grade iron, ensuring durability and resilience against seasonal water surges.

Strategically elevated above water levels, the structure guarantees uninterrupted, all-weather connectivity for more than 1,500 residents across five neighborhoods. Students, farmers, and daily commuters stand to benefit immensely from the safer and more reliable passage.
Beyond improving mobility, the swift completion of the project highlights the Army’s continued commitment to community welfare, grassroots development, and fostering stronger ties with the people of Kashmir.
