Baramulla, April 8, 2026: In a commendable outreach initiative, the Indian Army organized a specialized Dental Health Camp in the remote village of Gulistan Payeen in Sheeri area of Baramulla, on the occasion of World Health Day.

The camp aimed to provide essential healthcare services to underserved and rural populations.

A large number of villagers—around 200 people—from Gulistan Payeen and nearby areas including Gorewan, Paltaji, and Namblan attended the camp. Army dental officers carried out thorough screenings and diagnostic check-ups, while 67 patients received specialized on-the-spot treatment.

In addition to medical care, free medicines were distributed among the beneficiaries. Awareness sessions were also held to educate locals about preventive oral hygiene and the importance of regular dental care.

This humanitarian initiative, carried out in a challenging CI/CT environment, was widely appreciated by the local population. Residents and village elders expressed heartfelt gratitude towards the Indian Army for extending such vital healthcare services to remote areas.
The people of the area expressed happiness and appreciation, stating that such initiatives strengthen the bond between the Army and civilians, while significantly improving healthcare access in rural regions.
