The 34 RR organized a comprehensive drug de-addiction awareness programme at Army Goodwill School, Behibagh in Kulgam, with the aim of educating and sensitizing the younger generation about the growing threat of substance abuse in society

The initiative witnessed an overwhelming response, as hundreds of local youth actively participated in the awareness-cum-guidance camp.

Srinagar: During the programme, resource persons and officials delivered detailed sessions on the serious physical, psychological, and social consequences of drug addiction. They emphasized how substance abuse not only destroys individual lives but also impacts families and the larger community. Special focus was laid on early prevention, the importance of strong willpower, and making informed life choices to stay away from drugs.

The event also featured interactive discussions, where participants were encouraged to share their views, ask questions, and openly talk about the challenges faced by youth today. Guidance was provided on identifying early signs of addiction, seeking timely help, and supporting peers who may be struggling. Information regarding available counseling services, rehabilitation support, and community-based initiatives was also shared.

The programme served as a meaningful platform to engage the youth in a constructive dialogue and inspire them to adopt a healthy and disciplined lifestyle. Such initiatives by the 34 RR were widely appreciated by the participants and locals alike, as they not only spread awareness but also reinforced a collective commitment towards building a drug-free and responsible society.
