Baramulla Debate Competition Raises Voice Against Drug Abuse

Baramulla, May 18: A debate competition aimed at spreading awareness against drug abuse was organised at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Baramulla on Monday in collaboration with Indian Army and Civil Administration Baramulla, Held under the themes Nasha Mukt Abhiyan and Flight Of Young Mind, the event witnessed active participation from students representing various schools across Baramulla district.

The programme focused on encouraging youth to engage in meaningful discussions on the rising menace of drug addiction and the importance of building a healthy, responsible and progressive society.

A total of 24 students participated in the competition and presented impressive arguments both in favour of and against the motion. The participants highlighted the social and psychological impacts of drug abuse while stressing the need for collective efforts to safeguard the younger generation.

The top two speakers from each side were felicitated for their outstanding performances, while all participants were awarded Certificates of Participation in recognition of their efforts and enthusiasm.

The event concluded with appreciation for the students’ confidence, awareness and commitment towards promoting a drug-free society, reflecting the growing role of youth in shaping a better future for Kashmir.
