Baramulla, 05 February 2026: In a continued drive against illegal mining and unauthorized transportation of minerals, Baramulla Police seized two tippers carrying illegally extracted sand at Khadnyar.The seized vehicles bear registration numbers JK02AF 5574 and JK05B 6899.
The operation was carried out by Police Post Old Town during routine checking and heightened surveillance in the area.
Baramulla Police has reiterated its zero-tolerance approach towards illegal mining activities, which cause serious environmental damage and loss of public resources. Such enforcement drives will continue across the district to curb unlawful extraction and transportation of minerals.
The general public is urged to cooperate and report any instances of illegal mining or mineral transportation to the nearest police establishment.
