Jammu, August 22, 2025 – Er Danish Reshi, a prominent Bollywood artist, Senior Vice Chairman of the GR Beigh Memorial Foundation, and a leader of the District Congress Committee Srinagar has issued a fervent appeal to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to urgently address the grievances of Jammu and Kashmir’s government employees and pensioners. His call comes in response to a scathing press statement by the J&K Government Employees Conference, which highlighted the dire financial hardships faced by the state’s workforce due to unpaid dues and mismanagement of funds.
The J&K Government Employees Conference recently condemned the government for its failure to release the hard-earned dues of employees and pensioners, accusing the administration of “criminal negligence” and questioning the whereabouts of the employees’ General Provident Fund (GPF) contributions. The statement detailed the struggles of employees and pensioners, many of whom are unable to afford basic necessities like education, healthcare, and family obligations due to the government’s failure to clear pending payments.
Echoing these concerns, Er Danish Reshi expressed solidarity with the employees and pensioners, emphasizing that their plight is a matter of dignity and justice. “It is heartbreaking to see those who have dedicated their lives to serving the state being abandoned in their time of need,” Reshi said. “The government’s inability to clear the dues of its employees and pensioners is not just a financial failure but a moral one. These are not empty promises we can afford to make – these are obligations to the very backbone of our administration.”
Reshi urged Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to take immediate action to address the crisis. “I appeal to the Hon’ble Chief Minister and the Lieutenant Governor to prioritize the release of all pending dues, including salaries, pensions, and GPF contributions,” he stated. “Transparency is critical. The people of Jammu and Kashmir deserve to know where their hard-earned money has gone. If funds have been diverted, the government must provide answers and ensure accountability.”
Highlighting the broader implications of the issue, Reshi noted that the government’s failure to support its workforce undermines public trust and governance in the Union Territory. “Employees and pensioners are not just statistics; they are the heart of our society. Denying them their rightful dues is a betrayal of their service and sacrifices,” he added. Reshi also called for a time-bound action plan to resolve the issue, ensuring that no employee or pensioner is left struggling to meet basic needs.
As a leader of the Congress party and a public figure, Reshi vowed to continue advocating for the rights of J&K’s employees and pensioners. “The GR Beigh Memorial Foundation and the Congress party stand firmly with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. We will not rest until justice is delivered to those who have been unfairly neglected,” he affirmed.
The press statement from the J&K Government Employees Conference has sparked widespread attention, with many calling for immediate government intervention. As the voices of employees, pensioners, and their supporters grow louder, all eyes are on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to respond to this pressing crisis and restore faith in the administration.
