Closing ceremony of “Police Martyr Memorial Cricket Tournament” organized by Bandipora police held at Sports Stadium Bandipora.

Bandipora 23 Aug : The closing ceremony of Police Martyrs Memorial Cricket Tournament organized by Bandipora police under the aegis of Civic action programme of J&K police was today held at sports stadium Bandipora.The tournament,which was played on knockout basis started on 20-July 2023 and total 18 teams of district Bandipora participated.
On the closing ceremony the final match was played between Bandipora Cricket Club and Shadipora Sumbal,in which Bandipora Cricket Club beat Shadipora Sumbal and lifted the winners trophy.
Deputy commissioner Bandipora Sh.Owais Ahmad -IAS attended as guest of honour.On this occasion SSP Bandipora Shri.Lakshay Sharma -IPS and other senior officers of Bandipora Police, Army, CAPF, Civil Administration and other dignitaries were present.
Speaking on the occasion SSP Bandipora congratulated the winner team & said that it has always been the top priority of J&K police to provide better platform to the youth interested in sports and other activities.
SSP Bandipora congratulated both the teams and appreciated their sports manship displayed during the grand final of the tournament and said that Bandipora police will continue to engage the youth in different sports & others activities,so that youth of the district will excel in their fields of interest and these activities will also help to generate gestures of goodwill amongst them.
The closing ceremony was also attended by a large gathering of sports lovers, general public and youths.It is worth to mention that some famous cricketers of J&K UT who have participated at various National level events also participated in the tournament.At the end a prize distribution ceremony was held in which trophies, cricket Kits were awarded to both winners team and runner-up team and medals were also awarded individually to all the participating players.
