Congress cries foul, alleges BJP’s ‘Pre-Poll Sabotage’

Srinagar, Mar 22: Tensions are running high in Jammu and Kashmir as the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has levelled serious allegations against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing it of manipulating the elections even before they have commenced. The explosive charge came on Friday when the JKPCC claimed that 11 of its accounts have been seized by authorities over what it termed as “feeble issues.”
Addressing a news conference in Jammu, JKPCC President, Vikar Rasool Wani said that the party’s 11 bank accounts have been seized for a delay of one month in submitting the documents.

“The ruling BJP government is manipulating the poll, even before the elections are held as our 11 bank accounts have been seized and a large chunk of the amount has been transferred to the government accounts,” Wani said.
He said that for a delay of one month in the filing of details of 14.49 lakh only, the party’s 11 accounts of 210 crore have been seized while 115 crore have been already transferred from our accounts to the government accounts by IT department.
The BJP government has let loose all agencies against opposition top leaders and at the same time, they are seizing our money, he said.
Wani said when all political parties are exempted from paying income tax, why such huge penalty or drastic action for a small mistake of delay of filing returns of our donations from MPs, MLAs to the tune of Rs 14.49 lakh only?
He asked people to wake up and throw the BJP out of power, otherwise, the common man of the country is going to lose freedom and democracy. All these tactics of BJP to win the elections by hook & crook are dangerous for democracy and if people don’t wake up now, our future generations will repent and curse us, he added.
