Vows to scrap smart meters in J&K if elected
Srinagar, May 9: While the power paucity continues to plunge the people of Kashmir into darkness, the Jammu and Kashmir unit of Congress Thursday promised to throw the smart meters out from the Union Territory and assured that if the grand alliance party is voted to power, the statehood will also be restored with the period of just one week after the formation of the government.
However, the Congress’s J&K unit Chief, Vikar Rasool Wani, stated the issues being faced by the people with regard to the power paucity will come to an end if INDI Alliance is voted to power. “We are committed to throw the smart meters out of J&K once the new government takes over,” he said.
Wani has also exhorted confidence that the candidates of INDI Alliance will secure all the six Parliamentary seats of J&K and Ladakh. “We are expecting victory from both the seats of Jammu and also three seats of Kashmir and one in Ladakh. The INDI Alliance partners have chosen the candidates unanimously and we hope that not only in J&K and Ladakh, but across India, the INDI Alliance will emerge victorious with a thumping majority and will form the next dispensation in the centre,” he said.
Pertinently, Wani also stated that a candidate from north Kashmir’s Baramulla seat, Zameer Ahmad has preferred to stay away from polls and will be campaigning for INDI Alliance’s candidate, Omar Abdullah for the seat.
