Srinagar: in a remarkable initiative to raise awareness about oral health across the nation, a team of dedicated doctors from Bengaluru flagged off a nationwide Cycle Rally from Kashmir to Kanyakumari today. The rally, aims to promote preventive dental care, oral hygiene practices, and early detection of oral diseases and oral cancer among the general public.
The event was ceremoniously flagged off from Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, with support from Government Dental College Srinagar and enthusiastic citizens who gathered to witness the beginning of this ambitious journey. Covering over 3,600 kilometers across multiple states, the rally will culminate in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, after a span of nearly 45 days.
The team is led by Mr. Vinay Singh with a message Pedal for Peace , one ride 1 nation . Among the riders, we have Dr. Brinda Godhi, Pediatric Dentist at JSS Dental College & Hospital, JSSAHER, who is riding to spread awareness on oral health, oral precancer, and cancer lesions .also joined by Dr. Suman Byregowda, Orthopedic Oncosurgeon at Narayana Health, Bengaluru, who is riding to raise awareness on bone cancer. Other team members Mr & Mrs Harish , Mrs Veena , Anitha , Mr & Mrs Kithara , Mr Likmaran & Mr Sandeep .
“Oral health is often neglected in the broader spectrum of public health. Through this rally, we aim to educate people on simple yet crucial practices like brushing twice daily, avoiding tobacco, and regular dental check-ups. By cycling across the country, we also want to symbolize endurance, commitment, and the importance of sustained efforts for public health.”
The initiative is supported by several dental associations, public health organizations, and sponsors who share the vision of a healthier India. The team will also document the journey on social media to engage a wider audience and inspire action nationwide.
This rally is not just a journey across India but a movement towards building a more aware and health-conscious society.
