The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered the placement of four IPS officers as In-charge Inspectors General of Police (IGPs) with immediate effect.
According to Government Order No. 298-Home of 2026 dated May 20, issued by the Home Department, the decision has been taken in the interest of administration.
The officers elevated as In-charge IGPs are:
- Shakti Kumar Pathak, presently Assistant Director ACB, J&K, also holding additional charge of Director ACB
- Dr. Mohd. Haseeb Mughal, DIG Traffic Jammu
- Sheikh Junaid Mehmood, DIG IR Kashmir
- Shahid Mehraj Rather, Director Police Telecom, J&K
The order further stated that separate posting orders for the officers will be issued subsequently.
The order was issued by Chandraker Bharti, Principal Secretary to the Government, Home Department, by the order of the Lieutenant Governor.
