Baramulla, January 14, 2026: The Himalayan Brigade, under the aegis of the Dagger Division, organised an Ex-Servicemen Rally at Baramulla on Tuesday. The rally witnessed participation of more than 450 Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris and their dependents from Baramulla district, including Baramulla, Pattan, Uri, Tangmarg, Rafiabad, Boniyar, Rohama and Sopore tehsils.

The event was graced by Major General Manoj Joshi, VSM, General Officer Commanding, Dagger Division, as the Chief Guest, along with other senior military officers and civil dignitaries.
The programme commenced with vibrant cultural performances by the “Strings of Baramulla”, creating a warm and celebratory atmosphere. This was followed by informative interactions from veteran welfare agencies including ECHS, DRZ (North) and the Zila Sainik Board (ZSB), who highlighted various welfare schemes and benefits available to Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris and their dependents.
On the occasion, Veer Naris, Veer Matas and Gallantry Awardees were felicitated in recognition of their sacrifices and outstanding contributions towards national security. Officials from all participating agencies assured the veterans that grievances related to pension, documentation and property disputes would be promptly addressed through dedicated Grievance Redressal points.
Several stalls were also set up by banks and small-scale recruiting firms to apprise Ex-Servicemen of financial policies, welfare schemes and a wide range of employment opportunities. The interaction provided a valuable platform for veterans to share their experiences and directly convey their concerns to both civil and military authorities, thereby strengthening coordination and trust.
The rally concluded with a community lunch, reinforcing the spirit of brotherhood and reaffirming the continued commitment of the Indian Army and civil administration towards the welfare and well-being of Veterans and Veer Naris.
