Ganderbal, Nov 30 : Field visit to public health facilities in District Ganderbal J&K Conducted by Mohammad Yaseen Mir, District Program coordinator, NCD with ICMR NIE team Dr Mogan
Content: As per national report, Ganderbal district has hypertension among one in five adult population. Ganderbal, J&K initiated NCD program in 2015. District NCD Division Ganderbal has already taken campaign on Mission Mode “ZUV AUR JAHAAN AUR” to screen and early detection of patients with hypertension and diabetes in all 126 panchayats and put them on treatment to reduce complications.The campaign was kickstarted in 2023 by honorable Lieutenant Governor of J&K Shri. Manoj Sinha through Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centres in District Ganderbal, J&K.
As part of epidemiology training program conducted by ICMR-National Institute of Epidemiology, Chennai, field visit was conducted by ICMR to Ganderbal. Systematic analysis and evaluation of program is crucial to monitor program performance. Hence Mohammad Yaseen Mir, District Program coordinator NCD with ICMR team Dr Mogan conducted field visits to District hospital, Sub-district hospital, Primary Health centres (PHC) and Health and Wellness centres (H&WC/SC) in Ganderbal, Kangan, Lar and Wakura blocks of district Ganderbal to evaluate the program from 27-30 November, 2023. The evaluation was focused on non-communicable diseases and information system. The field visits were guided and supported by Chief Medical Officer Dr Afroza Shah Ganderbal.
