Speaking to Morning Kashmir, President of Idara Auqaf Islamia Trust Pampore, Mohammad Maqbool Shah, said that today’s election was held through a secret ballot and witnessed active participation from the members. Out of nearly 120 members, 92 cast their votes. He said it is the right of the members to vote, and those who secured the majority have won. However, those who could not win also hold great respect as they have rendered valuable service to the Idara Auqaf Islamia Trust Pampore. He expressed hope that they will continue their contribution and remain dedicated to serving the Idara in the future as well.

He said that the Trust is focusing on two key areas. Along with religious education, their main priority is modern education. For this purpose, the Idara has established schools, and even if any child studies outside the Islamia School, the Auqaf will extend support to them, especially to those who are poor and unable to afford their studies. The focus, he stressed, is to ensure that no underprivileged child faces obstacles in receiving an education.

He further said that their second priority is health. In this regard, they have already started with a diagnostic centre where all blood tests, USG, and ECG facilities are available. He added that the Trust has also purchased land for a hospital in the name of Auqaf and plans to begin its construction this year. The aim is to ensure that health facilities from Auqaf remain available for the public at all times, especially for poor patients who cannot afford medicines or medical tests. This forum, he emphasized, will always remain dedicated to serving them.
