Indian Army Conducts Mega Eye Medical Camp in Bandipora, Enhancing Community Healthcare

As part of its ongoing humanitarian outreach initiatives, the Indian Army’s Bandipora Rashtriya Rifles Battalion organised an Eye Medical Camp at NM Higher Secondary School in Bandipora, providing essential healthcare services to the local population.

A total of 787 civilians benefited from the camp, which was conducted by Army medical teams, including eye specialists from 92 Base Hospital Srinagar. The initiative offered comprehensive vision screening, eye examinations, and medical consultations to residents from surrounding areas.

The camp witnessed active participation from women, children, and elderly citizens.Common eye ailments were diagnosed, medicines were distributed free of cost, and spectacles were provided to those in need. Patients requiring advanced medical intervention were referred to higher healthcare facilities for further treatment.

In addition to medical services, awareness sessions on eye care, personal hygiene, and preventive healthcare measures were conducted to educate the public about maintaining good eye health.

The initiative not only enhanced access to healthcare in remote areas but also strengthened civil-military cooperation and community engagement.Through such humanitarian efforts, the Indian Army continues to contribute to the well-being of the people while fostering trust, goodwill, and a spirit of partnership with local communities.

Local resident from bandipora expressed their gratitude to the Indian Army, stating that the Army regularly extends assistance to the people and plays a vital role in supporting the community.They also emphasized that such medical camps should be organized more frequently to ensure better healthcare access for the local population.
