Baramulla, July 27: In a timely rescue operation amid continuous rainfall, the Indian Army’s 15 Assam team sprang into action after a residential house partially collapsed in Barnate village of Boniyar, ensuring the safe evacuation of all 12 occupants and preventing any loss of life.
The house, belonging to Noor Din, son of Ghulam Qadir, reportedly caved in during the night due to incessant rains that have affected several areas of Boniyar in recent days.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the Indian Army was immediately activated to assist the affected family. Working in coordination with local residents and civil authorities, Army personnel helped evacuate all 12 family members to a safer location.
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported despite the significant damage caused to the structure.
Officials said Revenue and local administration teams have reached the site and are conducting a detailed assessment of the losses. The affected family is reported to have suffered considerable property damage, and necessary relief measures are expected to be provided following the assessment.
The swift response of the Indian Army and the coordinated efforts of local residents have been widely appreciated by people in the area, who expressed gratitude for the timely assistance and humanitarian support extended during the emergency.
