Pulwama, Oct, 28 : In a significant update on the state of Jammu and Kashmir, Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh presented a report on the region’s progress over the past five years. The report reflects a notable decrease in violence and terror-related incidents.
Addressing the passing out parade of 307 officials at CTC Lethpora, Pampore in Pulwama district, the DGP highlighted key achievements. Notably, there has been no collateral damage, no significant law and order incidents, and zero civilian casualties during this period. Moreover, the graph of terrorism, which had long plagued J&K, is showing a clear decline.
Outcomes from these initiatives include a decrease in terror incidents, with only three reported in Anantnag district this year. Impressively, 36 police stations have maintained a 100% terror-free record.
The DGP acknowledged that challenges persist, as demonstrated by the recent killing of five terrorists in the Machil sector of Kupwara. This incident underscores the ongoing efforts by adversaries to disrupt the peace in the region.
DGP Singh stressed the essential role of public support in achieving these milestones. He described the J&K police as “the people’s police,” working to safeguard the well-being of the region’s youth, people, and children striving for a better future through education. He urged the public to continue supporting the police for the betterment of the region.
