Srinagar, November 24: Jammu and Kashmir Senior Men’s Football Team delivered an exceptional performance in their last Phase-1 group match of the Santosh Trophy, defeating Ladakh 5-0. The team showcased remarkable skill and strategy, securing their place at the top of the group with an unbeaten record.
With this victory, J&K accumulated 9 points from three matches, scoring an impressive 10 goals and conceding only 1. The team’s consistent performances have solidified their reputation as a formidable contender in the competition.
Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Shri Satish Sharma, congratulated the team on their brilliant performance and praised both the athletes and technical staff. He highlighted the immense talent in J&K, especially in a popular sport like football, and expressed confidence in the team’s future achievements.
Secretary, J&K Sports Council, Ms. Nuzhat Gul, lauded the contingent’s efforts and expressed pride in their achievements. She emphasized her belief that J&K football belongs at the top of the Indian football map. She credited the success to the meticulous selection process, extensive training camps, and expert coaching provided by the J&K Sports Council team’s dedicated staff.

With the qualification into the final round, Jammu & Kashmir will now be playing final round matches at Telangana starting from 14 Dec.
