Ganderbal, April 22, 2025: The Kashmir Jurists Bar Association (KJBA) on Monday organized a candlelight march near the iconic Ganta Ghar at Duderhama, Ganderbal, to mourn and strongly condemn the recent killing of innocent non-local tourists in Pahalgam, Anantnag.
The peaceful and dignified event was held under the leadership of the President of the Kashmir Jurists Bar Association and witnessed participation from members of the legal fraternity, civil society activists, youth groups, and concerned citizens.
With candles in hand and placards bearing messages of peace and justice, the gathering stood united in grief and protest against the inhuman act of violence.Addressing the gathering, the President of KJBA expressed deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives and condemned the barbaric attack in the strongest possible terms.
He stated that such cowardly acts are aimed at destabilizing the peace and communal harmony of the region.In a strong message directed at Pakistan, the President warned that continued support for terror activities and the targeting of civilians, especially innocent tourists, will not be tolerated. “Pakistan must immediately stop aiding violence and disrupting the peace, prosperity, and development in Kashmir, or be prepared to face consequences,” he said.
He further urged the administration and security agencies to initiate a time-bound, transparent investigation into the incident and ensure that those behind the attack are swiftly brought to justice.
“The people of Kashmir reject violence. We want peace, justice, and an environment where every visitor feels safe and welcomed,” he added.
The Kashmir Jurists Bar Association reaffirmed its commitment to the rule of law, protection of human rights, and the promotion of peace in the region. The Association also extended condolences to the bereaved families and expressed solidarity with all victims of violence.
