Legal Services Week commences at Shopian

PD&SJ presides over the inaugural function

SHOPIAN, NOV 07: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Shopian under the aegis of National Legal Service Authority and in collaboration with the Tehsil Legal Services Committee Shopian today organised Legal Services Week’s Inaugural function on the eve of National Legal Services Day at District Court Shopian.

The Legal Services Week was inaugurated by Riaz-Ul-Haq Mirza Chairperson, DLSA (Principal District & Sessions Judge) Shopian in presence of Secretary DLSA Shopian Susheel Singh, Chairman TLSC (Chief Judicial Magistrate) Shopian Imtiyaz Ahmad Lone and Munsiff/JMIC Shopian Brij Raj Singh.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairperson DLSA highlighted the role of Legal Services Authority in giving free legal aid to the marginalized sections of society.
He also made the audience aware about the ongoing legal services awareness week all over India. The purpose of the legal services week is to educate the general public on their legal rights, entitlements, and remedies as provided by the Indian Constitution and other welfare laws.
The event was attended by Advocates, Staff members of DLSA, Para Legal Volunteer and large numbers of litigants.
