New Delhi: Mathura, -Sri Bankey Bihari temple Vrindavan opens for darshans for devotees according to old timing , for third consecutive day , after the change in timing orders issued by the High Powered committee in its meeting on Monday.
Sri Bankey Bihari temple High-powered Committee, in its meeting on 29 September, ordered for extension of timing, which was supported by all the members, Justice Ashok Kumar said. The temple was supposed to remain open for darshans for devotees for 2 hours and 45 minutes more than earlier time table.
“They pressurised me and got my signature, then I gave my letter,” Shailendra Goswami said. I also carried letters in the past, but there is no such arrangement to receive the letter, he added.
Goswami is afraid that they want to end Dehri Pujan. (Pooja of the doorsill of the sanctum sanctorium), a long-standing tradition at the temple.
Rajbhog Sewaadhikari Gyanendra Kishor Goswami highlighted the importance of emotions in Pooja (prayers )in Brij Mandal and said that reason to oppose the move to extend timing is based on this. “In Sri Bankey Bihari Ji Maharaj, we worship Lord Krishna in his childhood stage. All the rituals in the temple are designed according to a child, we cannot make a child stay awake for that long, and may cut on his time to take rest,”.
He also pointed out that the Goswami community was made infamous in the name of VIP slips and VIP culture. The committee banned the slips, but a VIP protocol is still running in the temple.
Practicing high court and Supreme Court lawyer and Sewayat of Sri Bankey Bihari temple Sumit Goswami told that Honourable High Court took a suo moto cognizance and in its order in 2022 ( PIL WP (C)1509 of 2022 ) clearly stayed the change in timing of the temple, and an order of Honourable Supreme Court said no change should be made in sewa and rituals of the temple.
The order of the Division Bench can only be superseded by the constitutional bench of the High Court or the apex court. If the committee is not going to honour the court order, then where is the rule of law, he said. Also, in any provision of law, the Committees will only give a recommendation in the preview of law; no external committee will change or take over any court order without following the process of the court and law, he added
The Apex court has clear instructions for the committee to upgrade facilities like toilets and water arrangements, which it fails to deliver in two months, Sumit Goswami said
