Today, I witnessed an unfortunate event: Justice Br Gawai, a respected member of our legal system from a distinguished Bodh family, faced disrespect in the courtroom from a lawyer.I want to express my concern and disappointment over such conduct.
The vast majority of lawyers stand tall for integrity and professionalism, but moments like this do damage far beyond one individual. They shake public trust in the institutions that serve justice for everyone.
As a party leader of the Republican Party of India (A), and on behalf of our leadership, I strongly condemn this behavior. Our legal system must remain independent, and it’s our collective responsibility, whether lawyers, citizens, or officials to ensure proper decorum in every court.Let’s remember: disagreement and debate are welcome in a healthy democracy.
Disrespect, however, should have no place. Public faith depends on how we all conduct ourselves, and I urge everyone to uphold the dignity of our courts and the principles of justice.Let’s move forward with respect, dialogue, and a shared commitment to our laws.
That is the only way democracy flourishes.Samar Parwaiz
