Srinagar, Apr 06: Meteorological Department on Monday predicted that weather wet spell would prevail in J&K till April 10, with chances of rain, snow and thunderstorms at several places.
An official of the MeT office said that on April 7 and 8, the region is likely to witness generally cloudy conditions with intermittent light to moderate rain in plains and snowfall over higher reaches at most places. Thunderstorms, hail and gusty winds are also expected at a few locations during this period.
On April 9 and 10, brief spells of light rain or snow are expected at scattered places, while the weather is likely to remain generally dry from April 11 to 16, with occasional light rain at isolated locations.
Farmers have been advised to suspend farm operations during this period, while travellers have been asked to plan their movement accordingly, the officials said.
Meanwhile, reports said that in Rajouri, a house was damaged after being struck by lightning today, while mud and rocks slid onto a road stretch in Baramulla this afternoon, causing panic among locals. (KNO)
