PAMPORE, September 17: As part of the ongoing Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on Wednesday, a Specialist medical camp was organized at the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Pampore.
The camp was inaugurated by MLA Pampore Retired Justice Hasnain Masoodi in presence of BMO Pampore Dr Yousuf Majid, RMO SDH Pampore Dr Bilal Ahmad and other health officials.

The camp aimed to provide free medical consultations and specialized healthcare services to women, Children and families from Pampore and the adjoining areas.
A team of experienced doctors and healthcare professionals offered consultations in various specialties, including gynecology, pediatrics and general medicine. Patients received medical check-ups, diagnostic tests, and medicines during the camp.

Officials emphasized the significance of the initiative in promoting health awareness and providing timely medical assistance, especially for women, Childrens and marginalized families. The camp witnessed a large turnout of beneficiaries who expressed their appreciation for the free healthcare services.
The medical camp was part of the government’s wider effort to strengthen community health services and empower women under the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan.

Speaking to Morning Kashmir, BMO Pampore Dr. Yousuf Majid said that so far, at least 550 patients have been registered, out of which around 300 are in gynecology, about 200 in pediatrics, and approximately 50 in NCD (Non-Communicable Diseases), which is still ongoing. He added that all other necessary facilities are also available here. This initiative is a focus under the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan, and we are providing all services under one roof, striving to offer the best possible healthcare facilities in this hospital.

Speaking to Morning Kashmir, MLA Pampore, Retired Justice Hasnain Masoodi, stated that the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan programme will run from 17th September to 2nd October. The purpose of this medical camp is to take care of the health of women and children. He said that it is a very good programme, and at every health stall we visited today, there was a great rush of people. During the health camp, golden cards were also made for some women, and we distributed those golden cards on the spot. If this medical camp continues until 2nd October, it will greatly benefit the people.

The Sub District Hospital (SDH) Pampore is well known compared to other Sub District Hospitals and is considered to have the best health facilities. Every year, around 700,000 outpatients are treated here. As part of our plan, we have already made the dialysis unit functional, which provides this facility for the local patients. Very soon, CT scan facilities will also be made available here. I am hopeful that within this month, around 13 kanals of land in BDO Office Pampore belonging to the Rural Development Department will be merged with Sub District Hospital Pampore because our future programmes include setting up an in-patient facility building worth 10 crore INR along with other advanced facilities, so that this SDH becomes a model in Jammu and Kashmir.

This is a commitment made recently by the Health Minister when she visited for the inauguration of the dialysis unit. The outreach and the outpatient footfall of SDH Pampore are higher than other Sub District Hospitals, and this fact should bring joy. Apart from the local people of Pampore, people also visit from Sonwar, Panthachowk, Khunmoh, and Budgam areas. There is a need to further strengthen the main power and facilities that should be available in every Sub District Hospital here. I am hopeful that in the coming days, these facilities will be expanded so that every consultant and every department’s service will be available at this hospital.
