NCB Srinagar Arrests Receiver of 10.735 kg Hashish/Charas Consignment from Kolkata

As part of its ongoing operations against narcotics trafficking, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Srinagar Zonal Unit, has arrested the main receiver of the recently seized 10.735 kgs of Charas. Earlier, three persons were arrested in this case, including the mastermind, the middleman, and the supplier.
During the investigation of the case, it was revealed that the contraband seized from South Kashmir was meant for Kolkata. Acting on this important lead, NCB Srinagar, with the support of NCB Kolkata, carried out follow-up operations in the Bowbazar area of Kolkata, a highly sensitive and risky area, resulting in the arrest of Khoka Dey @ Khokha Da, a resident of Kolkata (West Bengal), who was the intended recipient of the seized contraband.

This arrest establishes the connection of the syndicate and highlights the interstate scope of the trafficking network spanning Jammu & Kashmir and West Bengal. Khokha Dey is a habitual offender with a history of involvement in drug trafficking and was found to be actively involved in facilitating the distribution of narcotics in Kolkata and surrounding areas.
The arrest of Khokha Dey marks a significant success in dismantling the syndicate’s supply chain. It underscores the NCB’s commitment to uprooting narcotics trafficking networks that exploit the youth for illicit gains.
The NCB, through enhanced inter-state coordination, continues to pursue both backward and forward linkages to identify and apprehend other associates of the syndicate.
